A stupid man by any other name is still that

Let me say, yes I like to say a lot of things, generally good but bad enough if you try to indulge in games and ruin my life, I say at the very onset that this post shall not be crude or rude. I shall dip it in sugar syrup to serve on the platter, for you to wonder whether this really is criticism or is someone praising you :P Let's try to add a dash of humour into prose that seems ever so dull to read.

We got our independence in 1947; Darn! that was a good 6 decades back, mind you, we are about to complete 7. What exactly has changed for the men and women of this country over the decades that have passed by? Brahmacharya till the age of 18 / 21 or whatever the damn number (pardon me for my ignorance) is a relic of the past. Kids grow up on a heavy dose of Bollywood numbers, Hollywood's soppy tales and are always waiting with bated breath for their first encounter with that miraculous thing called 'love'. Oh my! I like that person so much, I am in love! shriek girls and boys alike, just coz someone impresses them enough with their antics or perhaps just looks, but they are sure it is love. They shall have none of your wisdom and would want uninterrupted, unhindered access to the object of their affection. We are not even 20 yet but we are in love and shall drown ourselves in melodies of eternal love. Grrreaat I say!

Everything said and done as above, what exactly has changed? Darling, I am a liberated man of the 21st century. Hence, coitus, copulation are the obvious words in my dictionary but I am still a bit traditional you know. A girl bothers to say hi / Good Morning to me and I believe she is singing paeans of eternal love for me. It has to be love. Why else would she say hi to me, just as she says to everyone else. Man she is head over heels in love with me and I am all ready to take the plunge as tradition inevitably asks of me.

Wait a minute, we are contemporary yet traditional; Why then why should I not seek the approval of my brothers, mother, father, sister, aunts and the extended band of cousins. Mind you, we haven't gone beyond 'Good Morning' but you know darling I am contemporary yet traditional, my tradition demands approval for my eternal love that begins and ends with a 'Good Morning'. Man!, I am in love!

Cut to the next scene, rush in the band of brothers and sisters, all eager to tell me whether it is time to go beyond 'Good Morning' or should I stop just at that. After all, this may not be love at all should my band of brothers warn me and tell me, 'this just won't work, it makes no sense'. After all I am a liberated man of the 21st century, I talk copulation but tradition beckons nonetheless. My experienced band of brothers shall tell me whether this new found darling of mine shall be the right choice. Does she have any experience? for I shall want perfection in my brush with la la la wink & nudge, the all important 'coitus'. My very experienced band of brothers shall tell me whether she would make the right partner for me. I better be warned or I shall have to bear the burden of inadequacies I have no clue about. Oh all, come and warn me! for I am experiencing love that begins and ends with a 'Good Morning'. Man! I am in love.

Come in the band of brothers, eager to share their two cents worth of wisdom. Don't worry kid, we shall guide you and warn you; after all, this is the love that begins and ends with a 'Good Morning' and you are ready to take the plunge as tradition beckons.

To be continued......
